Bonnie-Jill Laflin

If you ask most men to describe their “dream woman,” chances are they would say someone who possesses exquisite beauty, brains……oh, and will enthusiastically look forward to watching football, baseball and basketball games with the guys  --  and passionately discuss the stats, outcome and scores.  But do such “dream women” really exist?  Well, at least one!  Her name is Bonnie-Jill Laflin.  From a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader to the NBA’S first and only female scout for the Los Angeles Lakers, the former Miss Dallas-Fort Worth USA is leaving her foot and hand prints in the sports world – with five NBA rings and a Superbowl ring to prove it.   

Bonnie-Jill got her first big break while attending high school, when she was selected to the Golden State Warriors' cheerleading squad and was named Cheerleader of the Year by the NBA.  A year later, Bonnie-Jill joined the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleading squad, earning her first Super Bowl ring. The following year, she became a member of the most coveted cheerleading squad in NFL history, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, where she was also selected to grace the cover of their internationally known swimsuit calendar.  After leaving the cheerleading world, Bonnie-Jill went on to work in basketball operations and also became a sports broadcaster for the LA Lakers,  earning five NBA rings (1999-00, 2000-01, 2001-02, 2008-09, 2009-10).  While acting as a scout for the Lakers, she also served as Assistant General Manager for the Lakers’ Minor League Team, the Los Angeles D-Fenders

Far from the conventional woman, Bonnie-Jill wears many hats from broadcast journalist to philanthropist; model and actress; to an ever evolving entrepreneur, and she strives to continually transform herself while maintaining her down-to-earth southern style.  The University of Texas Broadcast Journalism major has worked in various broadcasting jobs, including host of ESPN2's "SpeedWorld," correspondent for ESPN's morning show "Cold Pizza," host of NFL Network, cast member of Spike TV's "Hotlines," correspondent for FOX News “Hannity” Show, and correspondent for the LA Lakers on Sporting News Radio and KCAL/KCBSTV.  Her newest television project, a reality show depicting her career in the male dominated sports world is currently in development.

As an actress and model, Bonnie-Jill Laflin has appeared in numerous television shows, print campaigns/commercials and music videos. She was the featured model/actress in one of 2005’s most popular Super Bowl commercials “Fed- Ex” with legendary actor Burt Reynolds. She has been featured in Nike, Wrangler, Fritos, McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Carl's Jr., Bacardi, Coors, Miller Genuine Draft and Budweiser advertising campaigns. She has been featured in music videos for such artists as Creed, Dwight Yoakam, Clay Walker, Little Texas and in Dierks Bentley’s "Come a Little Closer" video, which was named "Sexiest Music Video" by Country Music Television. Laflin has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Maxim, FHM, GQ, Fitness Rx, Muscle and Fitness, Player and Razor magazines to name a few.

A bourgeoning philanthropist, Bonnie-Jill is a dedicated supporter of the troops and has traveled to Afghanistan and Iraq on several Goodwill and USO tours as the only female celebrity. She recently returned from her Seventh Goodwill tour in Iraq and is currently featured on the cover of the 2011 “Battlefield Babes” Calendar” with proceeds going to the Wounded Warriors Project.  Bonnie-Jill is also heavily involved in animal welfare issues and has been featured in three international PETA campaigns as well as a PSA for the Humane Society encouraging compassion for all animals.  Laflin has recently started her own non profit Hounds and Heroes benefiting the military and animal welfare. She also donates her time to Operation Baghdad Pups, ASPCA, Humane Society, Special Olympics, Best Buddies, Operation Gratitude, Wounded Warriors Project and visiting war veterans in VA hospitals.

As an entrepreneur, Bonnie-Jill Laflin combined her love of fashion and sports and is the

Founder and CEO of the trendy NBA clothing line “Double Play Sportswear,” which is available in NBA arena stores nationwide. 

Bonnie-Jill currently resides in Los Angeles with all of her rescues Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix, Diamond, Pug/French Bulldog Wilt Chamberlain and her two cats, Lollipop and Johnny Cash.  In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, boxing, running and spending time with her two racehorses.

Shannon Dey

Alumni Kansas City Cheifs Cheerleader, University of Kansas graduate, IFBB Pro Fitness Competitor, NPC Florida State Women's Chairperson and founder of Team Bombshell. Shannon resides in Orlando, Florida.

Shannon has learned many lessons through professional cheerleading and fitness competitions. The greatest lesson learned is that personal determination and commitment to a goal is critical for success.

Born in Olathe, Kansas, Shannon attended the University of Kansas, where she was a Jayhawk Dance Squad Member for two years, making the team during her third audition. She performed at two Final Fours and danced at the Hula Bowl in Hawaii. Shannon believes that making the college squad after two failed auditions helped to develop her confidence and stamped a strong imprint of the power of determination.

Shannon entered KU's Graduate Program and became an NFL Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader for five seasons, serving as captain for three years. A fellow squad member IFBB Fitness Athlete Lovena Tuley introduced Shannon to fitness competitions. After attending her first Arnold Classic, she was inspired to begin her fitness career in South Florida. During her first week living in Tallahassee, Shannon met her future husband at the gym. She confided in him her goal to become a fitness pro at 5’7 and 113 lbs.

Shannon weight trained six days a week and practiced fitness moves three times a week for two full years before entering her first NPC Fitness Show. Shannon earned her first overall title at the Gold’s Gym Southeastern Classic in Rainbow City, Alabama. Meanwhile, she and her future husband became managing partners of a full service fitness club in Tallahassee.

Shannon continued her success with a second place finish in the tall class at Debbie Kruck's competition in Daytona Beach, Florida, and an overall title at the NPC Florida State Championships. Her competition experience then produced two last place finishes, which Shannon likes to note as a turning point in her career. Two years later, she was awarded a first place routine and second place overall in the tall class at the NPC Jr. Nationals in Chicago and again at Peter Potter’s NPC Southern States before winning her IFBB Fitness Pro card through a nationals title. In the Summer of 2005, the 28th annual NPC Southern USA Championships changed its name to the Shannon Dey Fitness and Figure Classic.

Since earning a Pro Card, Shannon has made guest appearances on countless shows throughout the country. In 2005, Rob and Shannon moved to Daytona Beach to open a fitness club chain called “Boom Fitness Clubs” located in Ormond Beach, Florida, Daytona Beach, FL, Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Valdosta, Georgia. The two were married in 2006.

Shannon and Rob have also created the Bombshell Figure & Fitness Academy, which in two short years, has grown to over 100 NPC Figure and Fitness students/athletes. Shannon is now the Florida NPC Chairperson for Figure & Fitness and partial owner of the long standing regional Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure magazine "Southern Muscle Plus."  

Shannon truly believes that life throws obstacles in your way on a regular basis. Whether its athletic competitions or coping with the unexpected stresses in life, a positive attitude is a must to keep your personal dreams alive. Through determination and personal commitment anything is possible.
